Church display & service  – Moe VIC

This morning, we headed out to the Moe area to participate in an event at a local church. We arrived and set up the vehicle display on the grassed area in front of the church, which is situated on a service road parallel to the highway, with sound barriers to mitigate the constant traffic noise.

As people began to arrive, we had the opportunity to engage with them, share the story book and other resources, and take photographs with the vehicle. We were pleased to meet a lady who was celebrating her 91st birthday and was excited to have her picture taken with the vehicle.

The main service focused on God’s presence, which resonated with the biblical text we had reflected on earlier. Following the service, there was a fellowship luncheon where the birthdays of two members, aged 94 and 91, were celebrated. We were grateful for the additional copies of “The Overlander” book that the local pastor contributed to share with attendees.

Community display

After the event at the church, we quickly transitioned to the next location, the entrance of the Old Gippstown Historic Village, which was just over a kilometre away. We set up the display on the footpath leading to the entrance and were pleased to reconnect with some of the staff we had met earlier in the week. Throughout the afternoon, we had the opportunity to engage with both visitors to the historic village and members of the local community.

As the day drew to a close, we enjoyed a light meal. We spent the evening reading, uploading photos, and appreciating the warmth of the caravan heater on a rather cold night, with temperatures expected to drop to 8 degrees overnight.

We have completed 6 weeks of our journey and have had the privilege of connecting with over 7,200 people, sharing the story of Bubsie and Nevill Westwood.
