A Wonderful Day in Narromine & The Journey Home

Our Final Display at Dundas Park
What a beautiful morning we had setting up our display in Dundas Park! The day was filled with joy as families gathered for fun activities, children’s entertainment, historical vehicles on show, and of course, a delicious sausage sizzle. Thanks to a lovely breeze, the weather stayed comfortable throughout the event.
We were thrilled to connect with so many wonderful people from the community! Warren even had the opportunity to chat with a local journalist who was eager to hear about our journey.
The highlight? We gave away over 40 Overlander Books to enthusiastic readers! It was the perfect way to celebrate and conclude this special chapter of our adventure.

Heartfelt Farewells
After returning to the church, we carefully packed up our things and gathered together for a farewell prayer. These moments of gratitude and blessing before friends part ways are so moving.

Kevin and Glenda’s Journey East
Kevin and Glenda set off eastward and made excellent time, arriving safely home in Cooranbong at 7:30 that evening. Welcome home, you two!

Warren and Desiree’s Adventure Southwest
Warren and Desiree headed southwest, and well… let’s just say their journey had an unexpected twist! Remember that troublesome tyre from the other day? It decided to blow out completely somewhere between Lake Cargelligo and Hay.
But here’s where the story gets heartwarming: not one, not two, but FOUR cars filled with Samoan families stopped to help Warren change the tyre! There’s nothing quite like the kindness of strangers on the road. These wonderful people turned a stressful situation into a reminder of how good people can be.
Warren and Desiree camped just past Hay for the night, surely with grateful hearts for their roadside angels.
The next morning, they continued their journey and arrived in the beautiful Riverland by evening, safe and sound.

Reflections
What a journey this has been! From meaningful community connections in Narromine to unexpected kindness on the highway, every moment reminded us of the goodness in people and the adventures that await when we step out in faith.
