Hillview Op Shop – Morisset
An early morning start meant that the team was able to meet with the volunteer staff of the Op Shop for morning worship. “Bubsie” was displayed in the carpark outside the shop along with a number of other vintage cars and hot-rods from local owners.
The Hillview church team also had a stall set up with the sharing book – “The Overlander” handed out to people entering the Op Shop. They also had a number of other resources for people to take and a spot it quiz game for the children to find answers for with small reward gifts for their efforts.
The Hillview Church Pathfinder teens also had a number of activities throughout the day with face painting, ballooning, clowns assisting children, and a great fundraiser with a sausage sandwich lunch and drink and other items available.
The Bubsie team was able to chat with many people, answering questions, pointing out details on the car such as manual windscreen wipes, the horn and arrangement of pedals and controls, sharing events from the original journey and the reason for Nevill’s journey. We shared the book God’s Rescue plan, QR code program cards, Bubsie colouring brochures, the brochure on the 2025 journey and “The Overlander” to those who had not yet received a copy.
The new gazebo proved to be a great shelter from the noonday sun. We were again blessed to have divine encounters with people who were visiting the area for the day and who were intrigued by the story of Bubsie.
An official church photographer – Ann Stafford, was able to get a good record of the events of the morning.
People were interested in watching Bubsie being driven into its trailer ready for its next event.

Hillview Church, Morisset – Outdoor Pathfinder/Adventurer Afternoon
The Hillview Church pathfinders and adventurer hosted an afternoon under the trees in the shade. There were more than 60 people present. The pathfinders did an amazing job with leading out in the hosting, conducting the ice-breaker quizzes to understand their audience and in making people feel relaxed and welcome. “The Overlander” book was given to the person who was the oldest, the person holding a driver’s license the longest, and for other interesting trivia.
Pr Kevin Amos was then introduced by the Pathfinder host and he told the experiences from Nevill’s journey using the car to illustrate some of the events that took place. At the end of that time, drinks, biscuits and scones were served to the attendees by the Pathfinders and Adventurers in uniform, with Kevin even receiving a biscuit reward from one of the pathfinders for sharing such a great story! Everyone mingled, had photos taken with the car and inside the car and were able to chat and ask further questions.
As Bubsie was loaded on the trailer at the end of the program, people were able to take videos of it being driven. Ann was also busy during the afternoon recording the events of the afternoon on camera.
