Arriving at the school after the buses had left we set up the car under the bus shelter area and while the High School students had chapel, the upper primary school classes came and viewed Bubsie and were given a quick summary on the vehicle and the purpose for the trip undertaken in 1925 and the centenary celebration of that event this year. Henk Viljoen, the TIJ Manager assisted the team with the class presentations and the running of the engine of the car. At 10.10 the primary classes, proceeded to the multi-purpose building for the primary school chapel, where Pr Kevin Amos gave a presentation on what life was like in the outback a hundred years ago and the hope that Bible prophecy gives to us.
The team also shared with selected high school classes who came to view the car, the story of Nevill Westward and a demonstration of the car throughout the morning periods. The children in the K-2 classes also had a presentation in their morning chapel with viewing of the car on the way back to their classrooms.
Students, teachers, staff and some parents attending the morning chapel periods also had the opportunity to view the car and ask questions during the morning and lunchtime.
Other high school classes also attended viewings in the afternoon session. During the day, over 550 people were made aware of the purpose of the 2025 Right Around Australia project and the story of the car.
The RAA team appreciated the cold drinks and snacks that school staff brought them throughout the day and the great time they had with the students.
