Port Lincoln: Community Worship and Vehicle Display

Morning Weather and Setup
We awoke to wet conditions following overnight rain, with a weather front moving in from the sea. After a brief team meeting, we traveled into town just before 9:00 AM to establish our display on the lawn area adjacent to the community center. Throughout the morning, we experienced cool breezes and persistent light rain.

Morning Program and Responsibilities
Glenda assisted with technical preparation inside, downloading video content for the morning educational program onto the presentation that Val had prepared.

Team responsibilities were distributed with Kevin managing the outdoor vehicle display during the morning program, while Veronica welcomed attendees in the foyer. The program featured a promotional video about the Right Around Australia journey, followed by an educational session led by Desiree and Warren May that was well-received by participants.

During the main service period, Glenda supervised the outdoor display, engaging with both community visitors who came specifically to view the vintage vehicle and regular attendees arriving for the service.

Main Service Activities
Following a music segment, Veronica presented a children’s feature about the importance of following verified navigation rather than potentially misguided travelers on a path.

Kevin delivered the main presentation titled “How to Live in Times of Crisis,” drawing insights from the historical account of Abram in Genesis 14. Sean Walker concluded the service by leading a supportive prayer for our continuing journey.

Community Lunch and Team Presentation
The gathering continued with a community lunch featuring a southwestern-style meal with salads and fruit platters. Toward the conclusion of the meal, our team shared notable experiences from the journey thus far, discussing the impact on communities, individuals, and our own perspectives. The shared meal concluded with a collective reflection.

Many attendees took the opportunity to be photographed with Bubsie before we secured the vehicle in its trailer and returned to our accommodation for a more relaxed afternoon.

Reflections
The day provided valuable opportunities to form new connections, reconnect with previous acquaintances, and participate in collective community activities. Our mission to share stories of resilience and historical significance continues to resonate with those we meet along our route.
