Belmore Park, Goulburn: When Two Legends Meet

The Journey South
We packed up from Bowral and headed toward Goulburn, leaving our caravans safely at the Goulburn Seventh-day Adventist Church before making the short trip to Belmore Park with Bubsie, her trusty trailer, and two support vehicles. Once we found our spot, we got straight to work unloading Bubsie and setting up our display. The gazebo went up, the bollards marked out our space, and the A-frame landed on the footpath like a welcome sign. Three camera enthusiasts immediately descended on the scene, capturing every angle of our classic beauty.

A Beautiful Day in Store
The setting couldn’t have been better. Belmore Park was absolutely stunning, with lush greenery and blue skies—and the weather was on our side! It was the perfect backdrop for what would turn out to be a truly special day.

A Surprise Guest Arrives
Then something magical happened. The “Bean” rolled into view—a tribute vehicle to Francis Birtle’s legendary car. Warren Brown and his dedicated team had completed an incredible journey driving this beauty all the way from England to Melbourne, finishing up just this past January! While the Bean was a little younger than Bubsie, she wore the same striking red colour, and together they made quite the impressive pair. The crowd absolutely loved it. There was something special about seeing these two classic vehicles side by side—it was like a piece of automotive history come to life.

Hearts and Stories
As the day unfolded, a group of students with special needs came through to see the display. Their genuine enthusiasm was heartwarming—they loved hearing Bubsie’s story and couldn’t resist taking photos with her. As they headed off to their next activity, you could see the joy on their faces.
Throughout the afternoon, other visitors came and went, each one drawn by the history and charm of the car. Some took home copies of God’s Rescue Plan, while others simply enjoyed learning about Bubsie’s remarkable heritage and the story she represents.

A Busy Organizer Stops By
Just before lunchtime, Brodie Mason popped in to see how things were going. As the local organiser who’d done so much of the legwork to make this event happen, we were thrilled to see him—though we understood he couldn’t stay long, as he was on duty as a paramedic that day. It’s volunteers and organisers like Brodie who make these community events possible, and we were genuinely grateful for all his behind-the-scenes work.
Lunch, Pack-Up, and a Happy Reunion
By lunchtime, the visitors kept coming right up until pack-up time, so we took turns enjoying our meal in the park. We then started to load Bubsie back into her trailer and set our sights on Canberra.
The drive to the Exhibition Showgrounds Campground—better known as EPIC Caravan Park—was smooth, and as we arrived and began settling in, we spotted a familiar faces. Our friends from Queensland were pulling in at exactly the same time! Talk about perfect timing. That unexpected reunion made for a lovely end to an already wonderful day.

A Day to Remember
Belmore Park had delivered on every front: beautiful surroundings, heartwarming connections, automotive magic when Bubsie and the Bean came together, and the warmth of community coming together. One perfect day!
