While the sun climbed over Guyra, we tackled the mountain of washing (yes, adventure travel means lots of laundry!) and put the finishing touches on next week’s exciting Bubsie tour itinerary. Sometimes the quiet moments between adventures are just what you need.

The Great Town Centre BBQ Takeover

Firing Up Community Spirit
From mid-morning to early afternoon, we transformed into BBQ masters – loading equipment, prepping food, and setting up our sizzling station right in the heart of the town centre parking area. The aroma of grilling goodness soon worked its magic!

The Crowd Goes Wild!
What started as a church gathering exploded into a proper community celebration! Over 30 locals joined our church friends, all drawn by curiosity about our mysterious Bubsie. The parking area buzzed with conversation, laughter, and the irresistible smell of BBQ.

The Renault Knight’s Quest for the Missing Wheel Nut
In a twist worthy of a folk tale, a local hero rolled up in his vintage Renault, took one look at Bubsie’s missing wheel nut, and declared, “I might have just the thing!”
He dashed home on a mission to search through his collection of automotive treasures. Though he returned empty-handed, his determination to help a stranger touched our hearts. Not all heroes wear capes – some drive old Renaults!

Hearts, Books, and Beautiful Connections
The afternoon brought unexpected magic. Several families opened up about their journeys, sharing stories that moved us deeply. These weren’t just polite conversations – they were real, authentic connections between strangers who became friends.

Everyone who joined these meaningful chats left with arms full of treasures: our two books, Bibles, and various spiritual readings offered by the wonderful church community. Sometimes the best gifts aren’t planned – they just happen.

Students Swarm Bubsie
BOOM! The school bell rang and suddenly we were surrounded! A tidal wave of students flooded the parking area, their excitement infectious. Bubsie became an instant celebrity, with kids lining up for photos and peppering us with questions.
The BBQ worked overtime as hungry students devoured everything in sight. Their energy transformed our calm afternoon into a joyful circus of laughter and stories.

The Great Bubsie Squeeze Challenge

When Reality Hits Home
As twilight painted Guyra’s sky, we saved the best laugh for last. Pastor Luke and his wife Tammy decided to experience Bubsie first hand. Watching these two tall souls fold themselves into our tiny traveling companion was comedy gold!
Their eyes widened as they realized: “Two tall young men traveled HOW FAR in this?!”
The cramped reality check had everyone in stitches. Sometimes you need to squeeze into someone else’s world to truly appreciate their journey.

Until Tomorrow, Guyra!
As we tucked Bubsie safely into the trailer for the night, we couldn’t help but smile. Guyra had given us more than we expected – new friends, belly laughs, attempted wheel nut rescues, and connections that went deeper than just BBQ chats.
Tomorrow brings new roads and new stories, but today? Today was perfectly, beautifully Guyra.
