From Flooded Rivers to Fighter Planes
Another absolutely drenched start to the day greeted us after heavy rain hammered down all night long. We encountered flooded waterways and what were usually gentle streams had transformed into rushing, chocolate-brown rivers as we carefully made our way to Scone. The landscape looked like something from a disaster movie!

Weathering the Storm: Bubsie Under Cover
We set up Bubsie under a protective tarp once again, looking rather like a small circus tent in the soggy park. For quite some time, we had no visitors – just the sound of rain drumming on our makeshift shelter and the occasional splash of passing cars through puddles.

When the Sun Breaks Through, Magic Happens
But gradually, the rain began to ease and our first brave visitors arrived. All were genuinely excited to see Bubsie, their faces lighting up despite the gloomy weather. The real highlight came when the cafe worker – where we’d gone for a much-needed hot drink – literally raced across the park to see Bubsie for herself! She was absolutely thrilled to have such an unexpected and special experience right in her own town.

From Park to Hangar: Bubsie Meets the Warbirds
After leaving the park, we took Bubsie to Hunter Warbirds – and what an incredible place this turned out to be! Row upon row of magnificent old planes of every description imaginable filled the big hangars. And there, with genuine pride of place positioned right in front of them all, sat our little Bubsie!

The Perfect Contrast: Tiny Car, Mighty Planes
The sight was almost surreal – our diminutive road warrior dwarfed by these massive aerial legends, yet somehow holding her own with quiet dignity. Visitors couldn’t help but smile at the charming contrast between our ground-bound adventurer and these sky-conquering giants.

Building Connections
Some excellent contacts were made throughout the day, opening new doors for future adventures. Special thanks go to Tim for his outstanding organization in arranging to showcase Bubsie in both locations – these local champions make all the difference!
