From Frost to Fame: A -3°C Start
After a bone-chilling -3°C frosty but gloriously sunny start to the day, we drove to Tamworth and set up Bubsie near the information centre and Hungry Jack’s restaurant. The contrast between the icy morning air and the warm reception we’d soon receive couldn’t have been greater!
Bubsie Works Her Magic on the Crowd
The people who came to see Bubsie were absolutely thrilled to hear the story and amazed that our little car could survive such an epic journey right around Australia. Their faces lit up when they realized just how far this tiny vehicle had traveled!
A Delightful Family Connection
We had the wonderful surprise of meeting Carol Millist’s sister – what a delightful encounter! She was especially excited to see Bubsie after hearing about Carol and Roger’s adventures traveling with Bubsie A through Western Australia and the Northern Territory. There’s nothing quite like these unexpected family connections on the road.
Vintage Car Magnetism Strikes Again
As usual, Bubsie attracted several passionate vintage car enthusiasts, and one generous soul even brought his stunning 1959 Chrysler Bel-Air to display alongside our little traveler. The gleaming chrome and classic lines made for a perfect pairing – old meets older! It was absolutely wonderful chatting with the friendly owners who clearly shared our love for automotive history.
The Joy of Shared Passion
These spontaneous car shows that seem to form around Bubsie never fail to warm our hearts.
