Murwillumbah Farmers’ Market: Early Birds and New Team Members
Another Dawn Departure
Our week of early starts continued with a 6 am departure from the caravan park, heading to Murwillumbah Showgrounds for the farmers’ markets. With markets opening at 7 am, timing was everything to secure our allocated spot in the central gravel area.
Dust-Busting and Display Prep
First priority after setup was giving Bubsie a thorough clean, removing the fine dust film from her bodywork and tires. Nothing beats that freshly polished shine to draw visitors in!
Paul’s Welcome and Steady Interest
Paul Kochanski, our Murwillumbah event organizer, arrived right at 7 am, and conversations started flowing immediately. Throughout the morning, we enjoyed steady foot traffic with people eager to hear Bubsie’s story.
Vintage Car Club Challenges
Several vintage car club members visited, though the gravel surface proved challenging for displaying their pristine vehicles – dust and potential paint chips from loose stones are every classic car owner’s nightmare! We did admire their beautiful machines from a distance, including a stunning Citroen and a member’s 1970 Holden Monaro.
Media Attention and Market Photography
Jonathon Howard from Tweed Valley Weekly stopped by for photos and story material, while the markets’ marketing team also captured shots for their promotional efforts. Local media coverage always helps spread our journey’s reach.
Fresh Produce Paradise
Between visitor conversations, we explored the market’s impressive variety of fresh produce – easy to see why these markets draw such loyal crowds!
Team Reinforcements Arrive
Our morning got even better when Rodney and Karen Pitt arrived from Warwick to join us for the next three weeks of towing duties. Having familiar faces and experienced hands aboard meant Glenda could focus on coordinating upcoming appointments while the Pitts jumped straight into visitor conversations.
Quick Turnaround for Next Stop
Just before 11:30 am, we efficiently packed up and loaded Bubsie for our second display of the day in town. With fresh team energy and another successful market visit behind us, we were ready for whatever came next!

Creative Community at M | Arts Precinct
Our lunch-hour venue took us to the M | Arts Precinct, a vibrant hub of small cafes, studios, and shared creative spaces where people gather to make art, socialize, play games, and appreciate diverse artistic expressions. Bubsie found her spot at the entrance, perfectly positioned to greet everyone coming and going.
Park Lunch Breaks and Team Rotations
The nearby park provided the perfect lunch spot, allowing team members to take turns eating while others engaged with curious community members. This tag-team approach kept conversations flowing while ensuring everyone stayed energized for the afternoon.
Afternoon Wind-Down and Logistics
Our 2 pm finish gave us time to pack up and deliver the Bubsie trailer to the school for tomorrow’s easy morning setup. Then it was back to the caravan park for some well-deserved rest and catching up on those inevitable chores that accumulate during busy touring days.
Gratitude and Media Sharing
We’re genuinely thankful to Paul and the other local organizers who made both venues possible – their behind-the-scenes work transforms good intentions into successful community events. As an afternoon bonus, we managed to locate and share Tuesday’s Channel 9 Gold Coast news segment on Facebook, extending our reach even further.
Two venues, countless conversations, and another day of sharing Bubsie’s story with the Murwillumbah community – mission accomplished!
