Right Around Australia – Travel to Anna Plains and Broome
Morning Display at Pardoo Store
We began the day by positioning Bubsie outside the Pardoo Store and office for a final display opportunity. Many visitors who had met us around the campfire the previous evening returned to see our car in daylight, while others discovered us for the first time during their morning activities.
Grateful Farewell
As a gesture of appreciation for the wonderful hospitality and generosity shown by Pardoo Homestead in allowing us to stay overnight and display Bubsie, we presented the staff with show bags that Fifi had specially prepared for our launch weekend. Their kindness in welcoming us made our stay truly memorable.
Filming Adventures and Challenges
We spent time capturing footage of Bubsie navigating Madman’s Track, which provided both great content and an unexpected challenge when our little car became bogged in the sand – resulting in some unplanned but entertaining footage of the team working together to push her free!
The morning also treated us to the sight of wildflowers beginning to bloom along the road verges, adding splashes of color to the landscape. We captured additional footage of Bubsie at the entrance to the road leading down to Pardoo Homestead Tourist Park, commemorating our stay at this peaceful and beautiful location.
Journey Continues
Our travels resumed along the Great Northern Highway toward Broome, with a pleasant lunch break at Sandfire providing a welcome rest from the road.
Anna Plains Station Adventure
At Anna Plains Road, our group split temporarily. Glenda joined Roger’s car with Warren and Desiree, and they ventured along the dirt road to Anna Plains Station, towing the Bubsie trailer. Meanwhile, Kevin and the Raams continued directly toward Broome.
The Anna Plains team enjoyed filming along Madman’s Track and displaying Bubsie to the station workers. Helen, Dave, and the other staff provided a warm welcome, making our visit both productive and enjoyable. The station road offered wonderful opportunities to observe local animals and wildlife in their natural habitat.
After completing the filming and station visit, the group returned to the highway to re-hitch the van and transfer the trailer back to the truck for the final stretch to Broome.
Arrival in Broome
The remaining couple of hours to Broome passed pleasantly on relatively quiet roads. Our arrival was made even more welcoming by Kevin, who had thoughtfully prepared a hearty stew for our evening meal.
Plans Ahead
We’re looking forward to our few days’ stay in Broome, which will allow us to catch up on essential tasks, complete vehicle maintenance, and continue sharing Bubsie’s story with the local community.
