Kanwal Church ‘Bubsie” Display

What a delight to meet with the Kanwal church members and set up a display in the front of the church at 4.00 pm. They had a couple of restored cars displayed with Bubsie – a Jaguar and a Ford Escort. A number of community people came by to view the car and receive copies of the book “The Overlander” – telling the story of Nevill Westwood. We enjoyed chatting with them. Most were not able to stay for the evening information night. However, we were impressed with the advertising poster that Kanwal had prepared for the event made from the templates available from the resources on the TIJ website. They had made good preparations for a program that will be commencing on Wednesday night. They also had a banner on the fence at the corner advertising the display of Bubsie. A local news magazine had also printed a write up on the event.

While the weather was a little fresh and cool with some rain, it did not hinder those who came to look at the car. The Kanwal members had provided refreshments for those who came, and we appreciated the warm drinks in the slightly chilly wind.
At 7:00 pm, Pr Kevin Amos gave a talk on events from the original trip. This was followed by a presentation by Pr Susan Magaitis, who will be running a Prophetic Adventure seminar commencing on Wednesday, March 5th. The seminar will examine what motivated Nevill to go on the trip and the amazing prophecies regarding Jesus.

Our hearts are filled with appreciation for these dedicated local congregations who pour their energy into hosting these wonderful events. While attendance numbers vary from place to place, we’re reminded that Nevill Westwood’s journey was never about reaching crowds—it was about touching individual hearts with hope. If Nevill were with us today, he would surely beam with pride seeing his legacy continue 100 years after his historic circumnavigation of Australia. The same Good News that fueled his remarkable journey continues to inspire communities across our nation. Every smile, every conversation, every connection made at these gatherings carries forward the torch of hope that Nevill so faithfully carried around our great continent a century ago. This is the true measure of success that would make our pioneering adventurer proud.
