Right Around Australia – Karalundi Educational Experience

Morning Program Launch
Our day began with Roger sharing some inspirational thoughts with the staff before we organised our display setup. Kevin then delivered an engaging presentation of the Bubsie story to the combined school assembly, captivating students with tales of our journey around Australia.

The morning continued with rotating class visits, where students had the opportunity to get up close with Bubsie. Veronica, Roger, and Warren guided these sessions, with the students proving to be wonderfully engaged and curious – their thoughtful questions made for fantastic discussions about our vintage car and travels.

Afternoon Activities
After lunch, Warren and Roger took Bubsie for a scenic drive while Warren captured spectacular drone footage of our little car in action. Warren had spent the morning honing his drone piloting skills, and the practice certainly paid off with some impressive aerial shots.

Meanwhile, Kevin and Glenda used the afternoon productively, planning accommodation arrangements for the coming weeks of our journey. Desiree, Pieter, and Veronica enjoyed a leisurely exploration of the beautiful property, taking in the peaceful surroundings with a long walk around the grounds.

Evening Connections
The day concluded with us joining the school community for their evening gathering. It was inspiring to witness the students’ confidence as they took leadership roles, and their musical talents truly shone through their heartfelt singing. Kevin shared an encouraging message about staying true to one’s path and values.

Special Exchanges and Memories
The generosity of the Karalundi community was evident when staff and students presented each couple with a copy of “What are you doing for us” by Steve Piez – a fascinating history of Karalundi that we’re looking forward to reading. In return, we shared copies of our own resource materials with each student and staff member.

The evening wrapped up perfectly with a group photo featuring staff, students, and our entire Bubsie team. A particularly sweet moment occurred when one excited student approached Desiree to share that her mother had the same name – these personal connections always make our visits extra special.

It was indeed a relaxing yet fulfilling day, filled with meaningful interactions and memorable experiences.
