Museum Park Display | Esperance WA

Friday: 9 January

A Perfect Morning
The cool morning air was such a welcome gift as we set up our display on the esplanade. There’s something special about starting the day with a gentle ocean breeze and the sound of waves in the background.
We’d originally been scheduled for a spot in town, but sometimes life’s little mix-ups turn into blessings. When we discovered our position had been double-booked, we were relocated to the Museum grounds—and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better spot! Right there on the beachfront, we had a steady stream of tourists and locals strolling by, many stopping to see what all the fuss was about.

Little Hands, Big Questions
What a joy it was to meet so many genuinely interested people throughout the day! We shared 60 booklets with folks who were drawn to Bubsie’s story, each conversation adding another thread to the beautiful tapestry we’re weaving across Australia.
But the real highlights? The children. Oh, the children! Their eyes would light up when they saw the car, and their questions were endless and wonderful. “How old is it?” “Can it really drive that far?” “Why is it called Bubsie?” We handed out stack after stack of Bubsie children’s pages, watching little faces concentrate as they colored and learned. These young hearts carrying Neville’s story forward—that’s the legacy that will truly last.

Rest and Preparation
By 3 pm, as the afternoon sun warmed the day, we carefully packed everything up and made our way back to camp. It felt good to rest our feet and spend some time preparing our hearts and minds for the Sabbath programs ahead.
Before settling in completely, we took time to give the trailer tyres a thorough check. It’s these small acts of care and preparation that give us peace of mind as we continue our journey.

Tomorrow brings new blessings, rest, and renewal.
