Braving the Chill: Bubsie’s Big Day in Glen Innes!
Farewell Margie, Hello Mountain Views!
After a very chilly start to the day and putting on many layers of clothing to help us survive, we said goodbye to our dear host Margie and headed off down the road to Glen Innes. What amazing scenery along the way with huge rocky outcrops visible.
Prime Position: Highway Heroes Spot a Legend
We set up Bubsie on the lawn out the side front area of the church where the food hub was operating from 10am – 2pm. It was a great spot as it was visible from the main highway through town and was only a short distance away.
There was a constant flow of onlookers who were thrilled to be able to see a genuine piece of history. Quite a number of people turned up as a result of hearing the advertising on the radio. Thank you to the local people for the great promotion.
Emergency School Runs – When History Calls!
Some people who came to see Bubsie earlier even went to get their children out of school to come and see it too.
Cupcakes Fit for Celebrities – Charmaine’s Sweet Surprise
We were treated to some wonderful sweet goodies which Charmaine made for morning tea. She even went to the trouble of placing little printed photos of Bubsie on tooth pics and putting them into the cupcakes.
It was another special day meeting many people who were thrilled to see Bubsie for themselves.
Next Stop: Guyra Awaits!
After getting Bubsie safely into the trailer, we drove off to Guyra where we will stay for several nights while Bubsie is shown in that area.
From frosty mornings to celebrity treatment – Glen Innes proved that genuine history still stops traffic and gets kids out of school!
