Kempsey Adventist School: Inspiring Young Minds with Vintage Adventure
Morning Setup and High School Presentations
Arriving at Kempsey Adventist School at 8:30 am, we efficiently signed in and positioned Bubsie on the church grounds before Kevin’s first presentation to high school students in the library. These library sessions provide perfect intimate settings for storytelling, allowing students to absorb the full adventure narrative before experiencing the car firsthand.
Hands-On Learning and Special Features
The carefully scheduled class rotations worked beautifully, with high school groups taking turns discovering Bubsie’s unique characteristics and appreciating the scope of the journey. Veronica, Glenda, and Kevin rotated presentation duties for each group, while Rodney provided the thrilling finale – cranking the vintage engine to life. These moments of mechanical wonder never fail to captivate young audiences!
Primary School Engagement and Dual Groups
Kevin’s 10:40 am return to the library brought the primary students into the adventure, followed by their excited car visits. Peak activity required creative management, as two groups simultaneously explored different aspects of Bubsie – sometimes, popularity creates wonderful logistical challenges that demonstrate genuine student engagement.
Lunch Break and Final Sessions
Our peaceful lunch in the church shade provided perfect respite between group sessions, interrupted only by an additional high school class squeezing in their visit before their 12:30 lunch break. The afternoon brought the remaining high school classes over 40 minutes, ensuring every student experienced this unique educational opportunity.
Onward to Port Macquarie
After efficient packing, loading, and sign-out procedures, we departed to prepare for tomorrow’s Port Macquarie adventure. School visits like these remind us why sharing Bubsie’s story matters – inspiring young people with tales of perseverance, adventure, and the magic that happens when vintage engineering meets determined spirit.
