A Heartwarming Day with Bubsie in Beautiful Narrogin!
The Magic of Early Morning Roads
There’s something magical about those quiet early mornings when the world is just waking up! We set off for Narrogin with excited hearts, wrapped in the gentle coolness of dawn. We knew the day would warm up beautifully, but those first hours on the road were absolutely perfect.
What made the journey even more special was Glenda’s heartfelt interview with a kind reporter from Port Augusta, who was putting together a story about our wonderful December 22nd event for the Transcontinental. Sharing those memories while watching the countryside unfold around us felt like the perfect way to travel!
A Welcome That Warmed Our Hearts
You know that feeling when someone makes you feel truly welcome? That’s exactly what Jann Laver did when she met us at the Narrogin church. Her thoughtful care in making sure we were comfortably settled in the church grounds reminded us how blessed we are by the beautiful people we meet on this journey.
Finding Our Perfect Little Haven
When we arrived at the Recreation Centre, we found ourselves a delightful spot beneath a gracious shade tree on the lawn. It was like the tree was waiting just for us! This cozy location became the perfect gathering place where visitors could wander over, take their time, and really connect with Bubsie and her story.
Warren was absolutely in his happy place, enthusiastically sharing all the fascinating mechanical details with fellow car lovers, while the rest of us had the joy of telling Bubsie’s heartwarming story. Having dear Pastor Malcolm Eastwick with us again felt like having an extra member of our family along—his presence truly enriched our day!
Laughter, Friendship, and Joy Rides
What a lovely afternoon we had! People drifted by in the most natural way, each conversation feeling like catching up with friends. One of the day’s sweetest moments was watching Warren take Geoff Steele, the president of the local car club, for a joyride around town. The smiles and excitement were absolutely infectious!
We also captured some gorgeous photos of Bubsie posing against the Recreation Centre’s magnificent mural—she looked right at home! As 3 pm rolled around, Jann and Kevin set off on a leisurely drive to Coles car park, ready to share Bubsie with even more of the community.
Where the Whole Town Comes Together
Thanks to Jann’s wonderful arrangements, we were able to showcase Bubsie right at the heart of the community—outside Coles’ welcoming doors. Kevin and Jann arrived in style with Bubsie, while Glenda enjoyed the ride over with Pastor Malcolm.
The warmth of the Narrogin community truly touched our hearts! Shoppers paused their busy days to chat, share stories, and connect with us. Some lovely folks had even tried to find us at the Recreation Centre and were so delighted when Warren and Desiree (who’d stayed behind enjoying that beautiful shade) sent them our way. It felt like the whole town was coming together!
Gratitude Overflowing as the Day Closes
As 4 pm arrived and Kevin and Jann headed off to lovingly tuck Bubsie back into her trailer, our hearts were absolutely full. What an exceptional, beautiful day it had been!
These precious moments—the genuine smiles, the stories shared, the connections made, the kindness of new friends—this is what fills our souls and reminds us why every single mile matters. Narrogin welcomed us with such open hearts, and we’re carrying those warm memories with us on the road ahead.
Thank you, Narrogin, for making us feel so at home and for being part of Bubsie’s beautiful journey! Each town, each person, each conversation adds another golden thread to this incredible tapestry of adventure.
