Sparking Curiosity — John Calvin School, South Launceston
We had the joy of spending time with the Grade 3 and 4 class at John Calvin School in Launceston, and what a delight it was. The children were wonderfully attentive, full of bright eyes and brilliant questions.
We hope their young hearts were stirred by the story of the courageous men who set out to serve and help others. A special highlight was watching the children’s faces light up as Bubsie roared to life — first by the crank, then by the electric starter — before being carefully reloaded onto the trailer right before their eyes. Pure magic!
A heartfelt thank you to the teachers and staff of Grades 3 and 4 for your warm welcome and genuine interest. You made us feel right at home.

A Sweet Farewell — Christmas Hill Raspberry Farm Café
What a beautiful way to bring our Tasmanian adventure — and the entire Right Around Australia Tour — to a close!

Our final display was at the gorgeous Christmas Hill Raspberry Farm Café, and it felt like the perfect ending to an incredible journey. Interestingly, this was actually a display we had originally been booked for on our very first day in Tasmania, four weeks earlier. Rain and an unexpected clutch failure in Bubsie had put paid to those plans at the time, so we had arranged to come back on our way north — and we’re so glad we did!
We arrived around 11:30 am and set up Bubsie at the café entrance, where she drew plenty of admiring attention. Visitors were genuinely fascinated, and it was a real pleasure to share copies of The Overlander and the QR code to our YouTube program, Record Breakers, with so many interested and enthusiastic people.
As the lunch rush began to settle, we slipped inside for a well-deserved meal — though we happily popped back out regularly to chat with new viewers as they gathered around. We then packed up and headed off just after 2:30 pm, hearts full and spirits high.
A very special thank you to the café manager, Peta, for your gracious support and the generous gift of hot drinks. Your kindness meant so much to us.
It was a truly lovely way to draw the curtain on our displays.

Until We Meet Again, Tasmania
Our final night was spent at our East Devonport campground, quietly repacking and reflecting on the incredible weeks behind us. Come morning, we boarded the Spirit of Tasmania and set our faces toward home — thankful and already more in love with this beautiful island all over again.
What a tour it has been. Thank you, Tasmania. You were wonderful.
