Citroen Club Display & Markets | Windsor NSW
What an amazing day we had today! As we started the day at our base, we commented on the weather, saying that it was meant to get to around 36 degrees today. As we prayed together, we asked that God help us be protected from the heat of the sun during the day and send a cloud cover. We travelled through to Windsor this morning to arrive at the church carpark just on 9 am. We had stopped enroute to fill up with fuel and had met one of the Citroen Car club members – Jeff, at the service station. We continued travelling toward the church car park and had to make a bit of a detour around the block to find the entrance to the second car park, which was easier to get into than the first entrance would have been. The other Citroen club members were also waiting there for us. After unloading “Bubsie” Glenda went with Pastor Igor Shemet to drop off the gazebo at the display carpark area and to see the route that Bubsie would take to the display. Realising that they would also need to bring the other resource supplies, they returned to the church carpark, loaded the other supplies and returned with Kevin as well, to the display area where the other helpers had already erected the gazebo. We worked out where the other cars and Bubsie would park when they arrived, and Kevin returned to lead the convoy of Citroens to the display and Pastor Igor travelled with him in “Bubsie” to his great delight.
They came just before 10 am and the cars were parked around the area, with the gazebo offering shade for most of the morning. There was also a good cloud cover for the morning and the sun was hidden behind the wall of the building along the side of the display area. “Bubsie” took the prime position in the square and we set up the resources on the table. As people came to and from the market, they were able to stop and look at Bubsie as well as the other Citroen cars on display and receive a copy of “The Overlander” as well as advertising for the Prophetica program about to commence next week. Gary Webster, Robbie Berghan and Gary Kent will be the speakers at the seminars.
The Citroens on display with Bubsie included a 1949 Citroen Traction Avant, Luxury C6 Sedan, White Citroen DS, a luxury Citroen subsidiary brand DS and in the afternoon, a 1951 Citroen Light 15, which was made in the UK.
Many people took the opportunity to have photos in “Bubsie” from a Kindy child to a lady of just on 87 years. We chatted to the owner of an Audi with 602 horsepower and compared it to the little 5 horsepower engine of “Bubsie”. He was quite amused.
We were able to share the QR code cards and gave away a few copies of “God’s Rescue Plan.,” the modern condensation of the book that Nevill had sold on his journey.
While the heat did deter some market shoppers in the afternoon, we were kept cool with plenty of water and an umbrella when needing to chat to people in the sunshine. We packed the supplies into Igor’s car and drove “Bubsie” back to the church carpark. After a quick tour of the Windsor Church facilities, we returned to base.
