Right Around Australia – Newman Visitor Centre Display

Downtown Display Setup
Roger navigated Bubsie through Newman’s streets to our display location at the Visitor Centre. After some quick maintenance – cleaning a spark plug to keep our vintage car running smoothly – we were ready for action. However, Roger’s planned test drive had to wait as visitors immediately began gathering around Bubsie, eager to learn about our journey.

Continuous Community Interest
The steady stream of interested locals meant that when Roger finally managed to take Bubsie for that much-needed drive, people were already waiting for his return! The enthusiasm from the Newman community has been wonderful to witness.

Familiar Faces and New Connections
Our travels continue to bring delightful reunions with people we’ve encountered previously, alongside meeting new friends who spotted us in this week’s news coverage. Even during our downtime at the caravan park, we’ve bumped into fellow travellers from earlier legs of our journey. It’s amazing how often our distinctive uniforms spark conversations while we’re out shopping – people are always curious about where we’re currently displaying and what our next destination might be.

Team Preparation Day
Today provided the perfect opportunity for our team to take care of essential tasks. We organised ourselves in shifts, allowing some members to catch up on washing and other personal jobs while others maintained the display. This rotation system ensures everyone stays refreshed and ready for what promises to be a busy weekend ahead.

The connections we’re making and the genuine interest from communities like Newman continue to remind us why this journey around Australia is so rewarding.
