Margate Community Food Pantry — What a Wonderful Day!
We set off a little earlier than usual this morning, keen to dodge the rush hour traffic through Hobart, as we made our way to the wonderful Margate Church Hall. Every Wednesday from 10:30 to 12:00, the hall comes alive as a community food pantry — and what a beautiful thing it is to be part of!
Setting Up & Settling In
Arriving with time to spare was a real blessing! It gave us the chance to unload, reposition the car trailer where it could catch the eye of passing traffic along the main highway, and give Bubsie a good dust-off so she was looking her very best.
Familiar Faces & A Warm Welcome
Pr Jacob was already there when we arrived — always wonderful to see a familiar, friendly face! A few of the team even managed to sneak in a photo with Bubsie before the doors opened to the public. Memories in the making!
The Community Arrives
By 9:30, people were already beginning to gather, and the smiles on their faces when they spotted Bubsie were just the best. The morning brought plenty of curious and enthusiastic viewers, and one moment that had us all grinning from ear to ear — a little girl who was absolutely convinced that “Brum” himself had come to visit. Priceless!
Catching Up & Recharging
It was also such a joy to reconnect with friends throughout the morning — those conversations are always a highlight. We wrapped up a little earlier than our other days this week. The extra time gave us a chance to do some planning, and — very importantly — to recharge Bubsie’s batteries ahead of our exciting trip north tomorrow.
The Adventure Continues…
What a wonderful morning at Margate. The community food pantry is such a special initiative, and it’s a privilege to be even a small part of a day that brings people together. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds!
