Early Birds and Big Smiles
We were up bright and early, hitting the road just after 8 am, bound for Smithton! We were set to display on a corner property right across from the Corner Op Shop — ordinarily a handy parking spot for local shoppers, but today it was all ours!.

A Warm Welcome from Heather
The lovely Heather from the Op Shop greeted us with open arms, and we got straight to work setting Bubsie up across the street. Up went the gazebo, weights filled with water courtesy of the Op Shop sink — teamwork at its finest! By 9:30 am we were fully set up and ready to go. And wow, did the morning deliver!

The Farmers Are Coming!
Within the first hour, a stream of men wandered over to check out Bubsie as they rolled into town for farm supplies or to run errands. Always lovely connecting with the salt-of-the-earth farming crowd!

The Day Keeps on Giving
The interest kept flowing all day long. Sure, there was the classic afternoon lull between 12:30 and 2:00 (we know it well!), but things picked right back up again as the school day ended and the afternoon visitors rolled into town. The energy of an end-of-school crowd is something else entirely!

Packing Up and Heading Out
When the afternoon breeze decided to make its presence known, down came the gazebo. We packed up Bubsie around 4 pm and headed off to East Inlet — our home base for the night ahead of tomorrow’s display in Stanley.

The Perfect End to a Big Day
And what better way to wind down than a peaceful walk along the Inlet with the tide out? After a full, blessed day, there’s nothing quite like that moment of stillness, breathing in the fresh air and giving thanks. What a day. Stanley, here we come!
