Strathalbyn Classic Car Event: Bubsie’s Evening Display

Morning Activities
Our display today was not scheduled until the late afternoon, allowing for a relaxed start. After enjoying a pancake breakfast, I participated in an Incredible Journey board meeting via Zoom. Kevin took advantage of the free time for reading, while Peter and Veronica attended to household tasks including laundry and shopping.

Journey to Strathalbyn
Following lunch, we made several phone calls to finalize arrangements before departing at 2 p.m. for Strathalbyn. The journey proved shorter than anticipated, resulting in an early arrival. Mark Wilson was already on site to welcome us, and we proceeded to set up the Bubsie display outside the hall while the Bridge club completed their afternoon session inside.

Classic Car Gathering
As Bridge club members exited the hall, many paused to view Bubsie. Simultaneously, members of the Strathalbyn Auto Car Club began arriving with their restored vehicles. The growing display attracted a substantial number of visitors throughout the evening. Sue Wilson complemented our automotive exhibit with a Literature Ministry and Health display.

Presentation and Dinner
While the evening meal was being prepared, Kevin delivered a presentation on Bubsie’s restoration process. The hosts then served a delightful plant-based dinner featuring multiple rice and curry options, sausage rolls, and freshly baked garlic flatbread accompanied by a flavorful salad.

Evening Program
After the main course, attendees enjoyed a dessert buffet of fresh fruits, fruit balls, various slices, and cakes. During dessert, the group listened attentively to the story of Nevill’s journey and the challenges he encountered along the way.

Community Connections
To conclude the evening, Mark introduced an upcoming Bible Study series on Revelation scheduled to begin Monday evening at his home. Sue highlighted available books and announced forthcoming health seminars.

The event proved to be a wonderful experience for all participants. We extend sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the evening successful, with special thanks to the culinary team for the excellent meal.

Return Journey
After packing Bubsie securely into the trailer, we began our return journey to Elizabeth, arriving back at base at 9:45 p.m.
