All Things Vintage Tuncurry: A Classic Car Spectacular by the Water

Scenic Setup at Memorial Park
After packing up from Taree, we travelled to Tuncurry Memorial Park, where Rod and Karen, assisted by Henk, positioned Bubsie perfectly on a waterside corner while others dropped caravans at Tuncurry Church. The strategic location provided stunning water views alongside incredible automotive history.

Impressive Vintage Vehicle Array
Over fifty vehicles of all ages and styles created a automotive enthusiast’s paradise. Classic cars lined the oval in organised rows for easy viewing, while trucks and motorcycles formed an impressive riverside display. The oldest treasures occupied prime waterway positions, and one collector showcased bicycle evolution with a penny farthing, a seat bike, and a vintage white-wall tyre model.

Festival Atmosphere and Musical Entertainment
Food and drink vans stationed near the gate alongside vintage merchandise tables created an authentic period atmosphere. A thoughtful book table offered free reading materials to interested visitors. The army band provided beautiful musical accompaniment while a spirited group of two bagpipers and two drummers marched through the grounds – these musical elements elevated the entire experience beyond typical car shows.

Lap of Honour and Continuous Engagement
Henk’s introduction preceded Bubsie’s lap of honour, followed by Kevin’s presentation about the car’s remarkable story. Throughout the day, our team remained busy sharing the adventure and distributing Overlander books to captivated audiences. Rotating lunch breaks ensured continuous visitor engagement during peak hours.

Afternoon Wind-Down and Farewell
Cars began departing around 1:00 pm, and by 2:00 pm, we gathered with organisers for a closing prayer before collecting caravans and heading to Cooranbong.

Grateful Farewell to Team Members
This event marked Rod and Karen’s final day with our team – they depart Monday morning for their new home and family. Their three weeks of dedicated service, mechanical expertise, and warm engagement made countless events successful. We’re deeply grateful for their invaluable contributions to this leg of the journey.
