A Prayerful Start
We kicked off our day with prayers alongside our gracious hosts before hitting the road to the Warburton ADRA Community Center. As we pulled up and parked our caravans out back, anticipation was in the air—and so were some ominous rain clouds!
Coming Together as Community
There’s something beautiful about watching a community event take shape. While we lovingly set up the gazebo and prepared Bubsie for her moment to shine, Kevin had a sweet idea—he took Pastor Peter Watts for a gentle cruise up the main street and back, giving folks a preview of what was to come.
The community center became a warm gathering place filled with friendly faces and generous spirits:
~ Faith FM brought their strongman challenge, complete with laughter and encouragement
~ An Op Shop where treasures waited to find new homes
~ A book stall offering wisdom and stories
~ The aroma of the BBQ welcoming everyone
~ The Warburton Church sharing show bags filled with the Overlander, God’s Rescue Plan, and thoughtful goodies
~ A brass band filling the air with joyful melodies
Hearts and Stories Shared
What a blessing to see people arrive—dear church family and new friends from the community, all drawn together by curiosity and warmth. The genuine interest in Bubsie’s story touched our hearts deeply. We spent the morning in meaningful conversations, sharing the story, offering QR cards and TIJ leaflets, and Kevin had a lovely chat with Faith FM. These moments of connection are what make this journey so precious.
A Little Rain, A Lot of Perseverance
The weather forecast had called for rain all morning, but we were blessed with clear skies. Around 11:30, gentle drops began to fall. For about 15 minutes, the rain came down softly, but our spirits didn’t dampen. The sweetest moment? Watching some eager young boys light up as they got their turn to crank the car! Their excitement was contagious. Even with the changing weather, people continued to arrive, to listen, to connect. It reminded us that when hearts are open, a little rain is just part of the adventure.
Working Together Through the Storm
Seeing another storm gathering on the horizon, Kevin and Glenda made the most of a break in the clouds, capturing some beautiful footage of Bubsie with the Signs Publishing building. Meanwhile, the rest of our team worked together to take down the gazebo—many hands making light work, as they say.
Then at 12:45 pm, the heavens truly opened!
What happened next was a testament to teamwork and good humor. We all pitched in—lowering gazebos, connecting the trailer, getting dear Bubsie safely tucked away—all while the rain poured down around us. By 1 pm, the storm had passed, Bubsie was snug in her trailer, and we were more than ready for hot showers and dry clothes!
Grateful Hearts at Day’s End
After taking care of soggy laundry and finding warm, dry things to wear, we settled in for a peaceful evening. Tomorrow will bring a new day and new roads, but tonight we’re simply thankful.
We’re grateful for a beautiful morning blessed with sunshine when it mattered most, for a caring community that showed up with open hearts, and for Bubsie, who continues to touch lives wherever she goes.
Even ending the day a bit damp couldn’t dampen the joy of seeing God’s hand at work through this journey.
We’d love for you to follow along on our next adventure! Each day brings new blessings and new stories to share.
