Visiting Mamarapha College: A Meaningful Encounter

The Drive to Mamarapha
The day began with a beautiful drive into the hills to Mamarapha. The sun shone through the mist, and the autumn leaves added a touch of warmth to the scenery.

Overcoming Obstacles
Upon arrival at Mamarapha College, the team encountered an undercover area accessed by stairs. However, they were well-prepared, having learned how to overcome such obstacles during their previous visit to Narembeen.

Sharing Knowledge and Connecting with Students
Kevin gave a talk at the college’s worship service, sharing the story of Bubsie and the important role that First Nations people played. The students were captivated by the car and eagerly took advantage of the literature provided. The team also had the opportunity to meet a lady connected to the Aboriginal actor who played the role of Bett Bett in the film “We of the Never Never.”

Enjoying Fellowship and Preparing for the Weekend
The team enjoyed morning tea and engaging conversations with the students, who were eager to know when Bubsie would be visiting their hometown. After lunch, they had to relocate to a different park area to accommodate a group of guests. In the afternoon, Warren and his two helpers spent time ensuring that Bubsie was ready for the big weekend ahead, addressing any issues with the fuel system.

Finalising Plans and Setting Up for the College Display
The team then held a Zoom call to finalise plans for the weekend and address any challenges they faced. In the evening, Warren, Pieter, and Kevin took Bubsie to Carmel College, where they positioned the car in the auditorium, preparing it for the display the following morning.
