Morning Departure and Arrival Protocol
Following prayer time with the hospitable Torrens family at the Gympie property, the team departed after 9 am for Noosa Christian College at Cooroy. Standard registration procedures included productive discussions with staff members, Principal Bronwyn Rosendahl, and chaplains Lachlan Harders and Esther Meale.
Outdoor Chapel Programming
Staff coordinated outdoor noon chapel arrangements, with Lachlan and Esther leading comprehensive praise and worship sessions themed around Nevill Westwood and the Bubsie journey. Conference Chaplain Neil Redman introduced Glenda and Kevin through interactive question sessions with preparatory students.
Educational Mission Integration
Neil continued the presentation by connecting Nevill and Bubsie’s story with themes of caring, sharing, and community service. The educational content successfully integrated historical narrative with contemporary values education, emphasising the practical application of helping others.
Primary Student Engagement Session
At 12:45 am, primary students participated in an enhanced version of the Right Around Australia presentation with extended question periods. Kevin and Glenda’s animated responses and practical demonstrations maintained high student interest and participation levels.
Interactive Learning Features
Students showed particular fascination with Bubsie’s horn, hand-crank startup, and manual windscreen wiper demonstration, which consistently generated group laughter. Pastor Neil reinforced the educational content through worship elements, emphasising Nevill’s commitment to service and encouraging student kindness toward others.
Individual Class Encounters
Post-lunch sessions allowed individual classes close-up Bubsie access while Glenda and Kevin provided detailed vehicle specifications and journey highlights. This intimate format enabled personalised interaction and enhanced learning opportunities.
Comprehensive Community Outreach
The presentation reached 230 students and teachers, with Overlander booklets distributed to teaching staff and attending parents. Students received program information cards for accessing additional content matching their interests, extending educational impact beyond the school visit.
Extended Family Engagement
After-school barbecue events organised by staff provided additional opportunities for parent interaction regarding available resources, programs, and documentaries. This extended engagement maximised community connection potential and resource awareness.
Overnight Accommodation Transition
Following successful school programming, the team relocated to Nambour Church car park for overnight accommodation, continuing to benefit from the supportive church family network throughout the journey.
