Gold Coast Christian College: Bubsie Meets the Students

A Quick Trip Across the Border
Just a 30-minute drive from our Chinderah base took us back into Queensland this morning, heading to Gold Coast Christian College in Reedy Creek.

Strategic Parking and Setup
We arrived to find the car park filling up fast, so the team quickly connected the car to the trailer and scouted for the perfect unloading spot. The staff carpark proved ideal, giving us space to get Bubsie ready for her school debut.

Assembly Time Drama
Timing is everything in school visits! We waited for the bell, then drove Bubsie into the quadrangle where students gathered for morning assembly. After the usual school routines and award presentations, Kevin shared Bubsie’s story before the day officially began.

Classroom Visits and Curious Questions
The real magic happened when classes took turns visiting Bubsie throughout the morning. Students were fascinated by the unique little car, asking thoughtful questions and getting up close to examine every detail. These interactive moments always highlight how Bubsie captures young imaginations.

VIP Test Drive
Deputy Principal Matthew Moore got the star treatment with a special ride as Bubsie was driven back to the trailer for loading. Nothing beats seeing the joy on someone’s face during their first Bubsie experience!

Media Moment Recognition
Many visitors had already spotted Bubsie on Channel 9 News the previous evening, adding an extra buzz of excitement to the school visit. Local media coverage always helps spread the story to wider audiences.

Afternoon Admin and Rest
After crossing back into New South Wales, we spent a well-deserved afternoon tackling the less glamorous but necessary tasks – washing and administrative work. Even adventure teams need downtime for the practical stuff!

Another successful school visit complete, with hundreds of students now part of the Bubsie story.
