Right Around Australia – Geraldton Community Display

Community Gathering
We established our display at the Geraldton community center and had the pleasure of meeting with local residents who gathered for their regular study group and community time. The warm welcome we received set the tone for a wonderful day of connection and sharing.

Sharing the Journey
Kevin kicked off the community gathering by sharing some memorable experiences from our Right Around Australia journey, giving everyone a taste of the adventures and discoveries we’ve encountered along the way. Roger then took the lead in the main community program while Glenda remained on duty with Bubsie, engaging with visitors who stopped by to learn about the car.

Steady Stream of Visitors
Throughout both the morning and afternoon, we welcomed a steady flow of community members who came to view the display. These relaxed, unhurried visits allowed for meaningful conversations about the car’s history and our project’s goals.

Fellowship and Food
The highlight of our time was sharing a delightful community meal at lunchtime with everyone in attendance. There’s something special about breaking bread together that creates lasting bonds and memories. The meal also provided the perfect opportunity for attendees to take a closer look at Bubsie in a relaxed setting.

Educational Presentation
Following the meal, Kevin delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation about the car’s remarkable story. Having already built connections over lunch, the audience was engaged and eager to learn more about the restoration process and historical significance of our vintage vehicle.

Full-Day Engagement
From morning conversations through to afternoon presentations, the entire day showcased how the Right Around Australia project brings people together around shared interests in history, craftsmanship, and community connection. Days like these remind us of the warm hospitality and genuine curiosity we encounter in communities across Australia.
