From Sunrise to Sunset — A Day Full of Grace

Two beautiful encounters, one faithful God.
What a gift it is when the morning itself feels like a message from God! The sunrise vistas that greeted us today were nothing short of breathtaking — a vivid reminder that He is the Master Artist, and a gentle assurance that He would be right beside us for every appointment, every parking challenge, and every conversation ahead.

A Wonderful Visit to Shannons Insurance
Ben Ashby had arranged a special photo opportunity with the wonderful staff at Shannons Insurance — a well-deserved thank-you for their generous help in organising the car show at the Hilliard Christian School Anniversary Fair. Our appointment was set for 9:30 am, but anyone who’s navigated city traffic knows that timing is everything! We headed in early to get our bearings. Our first thought for parking the trailer and unloading Bubsie turned out to be a school drop-off zone until after 9 am, so we found a quiet spot up the street on a steep hill — not ideal for unloading, but perfect for waiting out the peak-hour rush.

God provides — right at the door!
Just after 9, we made our way down Murray Street to scout things out — and there it was! A double park right in front of Shannons, with a taxi area behind, giving us just enough room to pull in and unload Bubsie into the customers’ parking bays. No long drive through busy morning traffic. No stress. Just a lovely, clear space exactly where we needed it. That was a real blessing, and we praise God for the provision of space — right there, right when we needed it.

Smiles, stories, and a brand-new cap!
Rodney from Shannons brought the whole team outside, and what a joy it was! We spent a lovely time taking photos and sharing the story of the journey with them. Rodney also surprised us with something we hadn’t expected — a fresh set of display cards for the car. Our old ones had certainly done their duty after a year of shows, so the new ones were a very welcome gift! Kevin also walked away with a smart new cap, courtesy of the Shannons team. Ben Ashby had come along from the school too, which made the morning feel even more like a little reunion. The warmth and generosity of everyone there was truly touching.

A heartfelt Thank You
Thank you Rodney and all the staff at Shannons — for your support at the display, for your time this morning, and for the kindness you’ve shown throughout. It means the world to us!

Bubsie Takes Over Glenorchy — ADRA Op Shop Display
Planning ahead pays off! While we were waiting in town that morning, we had rung the Glenorchy Council to confirm we could use the 15-minute parking space out front of the ADRA Op Shop for our display from 11 am to 2 pm. They said yes — and off we went! We parked at the church property, walked down with all the signage, and Kevin drove Bubsie down the main road to take her position in the reserved spot (complete with bollards to hold her space!).

Over 120 conversations — and counting!
Kevin pulled in just after 11 and the display was up and running. Over the course of the morning and into the early afternoon, we had the joy of speaking with around 120 people — each one a unique opportunity to connect and share. While that was happening, Glenda was able to collect the brochures that had arrived by post and chip away at some much-needed admin tasks. It truly was a full and fruitful morning!

Surprise visitors and old friends
What made the day even sweeter was a visit from Pastor Jeff Parker, the Tasmanian Conference President, who stopped by and had his photo taken in the car — a lovely moment! And it was such a treat to catch up with the many friends who work at the Op Shop. They even made us a hot drink, which was the perfect touch of warmth and hospitality on a busy day.

Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at the ADRA Op Shop — for welcoming us, for the warm drink, and for the incredible service you provide to the community every single day. You are a blessing!
From the glorious sunrise that opened our day to the peaceful sunset that closed it —
what a truly beautiful, grace-filled day it was.

To God be the glory!
