Right Around Australia – Gosnells Railway Market Day Adventures
A Perfect Day to Showcase Bubsie
What a wonderful day we had displaying our beloved Bubsie at the local markets! Starting bright and early, we made our way inside to introduce the car to all the stallholders and set up our display.
Meeting the Community
Following a helpful suggestion from the friendly folks at the coffee stall, we placed our information books on tables throughout the market area. The response was heartwarming! We had the pleasure of meeting such a diverse group of people – enthusiastic bike riders, mobility scooter users, and visitors of all ages. Everyone was captivated by Bubsie, with countless comments about how adorable our little car looked.
Relaxed Conversations
The market atmosphere was perfect for meaningful conversations. Unlike the usual hustle and bustle of daily errands, people had time to stop, chat, and learn about our journey. Many visitors lingered, eager to hear more about the car’s story and our Right Around Australia project.
Unexpected Treats
The local bakery surprised us with a delicious cream bun each at lunchtime – such a lovely gesture that made our day! As we were packing up, the market hall manager asked for a ride in Bubsie. Unfortunately, her adventure was cut short when we ran low on fuel, but thankfully, we had a spare can in the trailer.
An Invitation to Share
Warren struck up a conversation with a passionate car enthusiast who was eager to introduce Bubsie to his group of classic car friends. Soon enough, Warren and Desiree found themselves invited to his home, where six excited car lovers were waiting to meet our special vehicle.
Classic Car Meetup
Initially, Warren began sharing Bubsie’s story with the car still in the trailer, but Desiree could see the group’s genuine interest and encouraged him to fully unload the car. Once they could properly examine the engine and interior, the appreciation was evident. Everyone agreed it was both a compelling story and an excellent restoration.
The afternoon continued over delightful refreshments, filled with animated discussions about automotive history and craftsmanship. Warren was then treated to a tour of the group’s own classic car collection – a perfect ending to a day centred around shared passion for vintage automobiles.
Community Connections
Days like these remind us why the Right Around Australia project is so special. It’s not just about the journey or the car itself, but about the wonderful people we meet and the connections we make along the way. Every stop brings new friendships and shared stories that make this adventure truly memorable.
